The Shape of Water - A Film for Our Times

This gorgeous romantic fantasy is filled with archetypal themes and characters who are outsiders, the other, who are different and lonely. Though released in 2017, the film dives into the collective dark masculine and redemption found in deep feminine feeling and in nature, themes that profoundly resonate for us today.  The director, Guillermo del Toro explores these themes through intensely fantastical and imaginative images.  Nancy will discuss the film’s archetypal and social themes as seen in the many faces of beauty, humanity, ugliness and evil. Please plan to watch the film on your own in advance. We’ll discuss the collective dark masculine and the redemption to be found in deep feminine feeling and in nature. Zoom link
